Arinto dos Açores
This wine was made from carefully selected grapes from century-old vineyards in Criação Velha, exclusively from the Arinto dos Açores variety. After stemming, it spent 3 days in cold maceration with the skins where fermentation with indigenous yeasts began. The fermentation continued and ended in a French oak barrel. The aging was on fine lees for 8 months, it was bottled in July 2021 followed by aging in the bottle for almost 3 years.
Greenish yellow color. Aroma involving fresh grapefruit, araçá and lime fruits, some notes of gunpowder and sulfur, seaweed and sea air appear. In the mouth with a lot of freshness and minerality, it is a wine that in the tasting reveals several layers. Full and engaging, it ends with a long and very salty finish.
